I have a set of 15" rims that looked really good on my blue car.
They're a little rough, so I was thinking of painting them, and putting them on the GT worth some 195 45 rubber.
I can't decide what colour would look best on a white GT.

Thoughts?

White with a polished lip would look great. You could also buy one of those fluorescent strips that are commonly used on motorcycle rims just on the edge of the lip.

I agree, all white or white with a polished lip.

Body colour rims look good on our cars. I would go all white.

or something contrasting can be fun, a bright colour with a polished lip... maybe blue?

white on white looks really clean. if you go with a dark color the wheels get lost in the black tire. A polished lip takes away from the car itself. my vote white on white or hot pink :ez_l0l:

I'll have a look and see what else I have in 15". I probably have 10 or more sets in 13/14/15.

sorry to state the obvious, but why not leave the gt in it's unmolested state and run the white suzuki 7 spoke wheels that are on it in the pic?

also, i go against the current craze of painting rims black. wheels can make or break the appearance of a car. i probably show my age, but i like either polished wheels or something like argent silver on them.

You didn't state anything. You asked a question. Do you have anything else to add?

The tires on the car now are old. They're still ok for a daily driver, but the rubber is a little hard. 185 55 14 is a tough size to find, and considering how much power the car makes, I'd like to get a little more rubber under there if I can. If I run 195 45 15's on the GT, then I'm free to put the 14's on the Mk1, if I decide to put it back on the road this summer.

I like the silver that they already are. If you insist on painting them though, white or red to match the calipers but if you went red I think you'd need to put a red pinstripe on the car too. There's my 2 pennys

Recently in the suzuki swift sport cup, I saw a car out there with black rims that they pinstriped around the diameter with Screamin' Suzuki sport racing yellow (paint code ZYF if I recall) its a base coat that needs cear coat. But on a white car. it would look quite stunning. Its a flourescent yellow. hard to describe without seeing it.

Another had flouro green but only to match the sponsors colours.

I went for 1967 Chevy Orange for the Sprint and they grab alot of attention where ever I go. Only problem is that it makes it hard to go incognito anywhere in town.
