If the metro automatic trans shifts manually without the electronics hooked up, what's to stop someone from using a manual trans ECU and installing a ratchet shifter? Three manual gears with no trouble codes. Shift when you want.

Trans may damage itself, IDK.

Or, easier yet, install a switch in the side of the shifter's plastic housing that turns off power to the trans module.

Like a fun / normal switch.

personally i prefer manual trannies, but that would be fun to do to an auto

I had the same thought too, until my automatic metro stopped shifting on its on. Then I realized it wasnt cool.

Then I got a manual.


Now Im happy :D
