So I got a cheap one from E-bay and it's apparently not holding pressure properly, cuz I'm running lean at upper rpm's. When I unplug the vacuum line, fuel pressure doesn't increase either. Even when revving the engine on neutral (no load), I can see the pressure dropping on the regulators gauge. Anyway the regulator has so many issues I won't even bother opening it to inspect.
So what FPR do you guys use normally, that won't cost me an eye? A link would be highly appreciated it

PS: this is a nearly stock NA car, so no need for fancy regulators for boost applications.

I would suggest that before you attribute your issue to the regulator that you ensure your fuel pump is not at fault...you may be surprised.
Also, some FPRs are designed to work best when plumbed into the fuel return loop...others work best plumbed into the inlet from the tank.
If no specific instructions were included with the FPR perhaps you can try plumbing in the FPR opposite of how you have it now and note the results.

I'm using a Tomei. If you plumb it from your return, you WILL see a pressure drop when revving the engine in neutral.

Why would injectors stay open because of fuel pressure? Injectors pulse based on electrical signals, not pressure. At least so I think. Let me hear your reasoning?

Btw, the problem was occurring before I put on the afpr.

I mean the fuel pressure should be the same... if you have a drop than the injectors are staying open longer than they should (which could be caused by sticking injectors) or you have a bad FPR.
