Hi everyone. Im looking for gti reviews of this cam setup. Ive watched a few vids of idling gtis. Im guessing the power comes in hard at around 4000rpm, but what happens below that? How does it drive in traffic and at low speeds? Im considering getting these for my street sleeper swift gti. All those with experience please share.

I have those in my 89 gti, as well as a ''sandros'' chip.
you can sure tell at idle that they are in there...
I think I lost a little at the lower end, but over 3500 it pulls, really wakes the car up over 4,000.....8600rpm redline really easy to hit!
runs smooth on the highway at 3-3500 rpm in 5th, can moderately accelerate without shifting...but drop it to 4th (or 3rd  ) and its off like a shot!
makes everybody look when its running, wife still thinks its broken by the way it idles :-P
and still decent on fuel! still getting 40+ mpg with these cams/ chip setup.

have a set in my 88 g13b chevy sprint, loose a lot of 0-4000 but the gain over that is excellent, not for traffic jams but it can be daily driven (just push harder on the right pedal to go off a stop or a light)
i suggest to do the 4.39 final drive swap to help and take advantage of the new powerband

The best cams for the GTi!

The engine will become like a monster between 4k rpm and 4.5k rpm. I have mine dialed in. I think I posted my settings in the track talk section.
Below 4k feels normal to me.

How do these cams hold up over time? Are they very reliable as in would go 100k miles or more? Is there anybody out there that have been running these cams for awhile?

Theyre ground on OEM cores, so they'll last as long as stock cams, 100's of thousands of km's

Suprf1y, what about with nitrous? Same question for the 210/340 cams.

One question, i once drove a swift with cams, and the car shaked like hell, was it because of the cams or because that car had the rear engine mount in polytherane?

shakes at idle?
heavily ground cams shake, ya...at idle, I wouldn't say 'shakes like hell'
my steering column rattles until I hold onto it.
But I drive my car when I feel like it for fun, so I love it. A milder cam in a daily driver is what I would recommend to get rid of the shakes...or some alcohol.

Levon, any issues with getting the car through emissions?

Thats going to be next to impossible because part of the test now involves taking several pictures of the car while it is getting tested, those pictures includes a picture of the VIN, the door tag, the license plates, etc..

You will have to swap in stock cams to get it through.

Do you think a set of adjustable cam sprockets would allow you to close some of the overlap and help? I have a set of the 210/340 cams and have never installed them, been sitting in the garage for years wrapped up, and I also have a set of the adjustable cam gears currently installed but never dialed them in.. I have been debating installing the cams but if it isn't going to pass emissions, I don't know if I should bother.
