Best just to pick up a set of GTi/GT seats. They are Recaro's, they have a whole history of racing under their design belt. They are fairly light but bolt right in with no mods.

or, up where you are, the seats from an 89 thru 91 turbo sprint or firefly. same gt style seats, different fabric choices.

Jr is 6'6" installed these seats in both my current driver GTi's
they sit 3" further back than the stock seat exactly the same dimensions as the stock seat only higher at the back.
more pics of the install in my gallery.
Mounted to the stoc rails, and set up for big guys like Jr.
they are Procar Sportsman, smaller than the standard racing seats perfect for our cars.

From personal exp. I do not recomend the GT seats atleast in the vert @ 6ft tall i am quite cramped. might be different in the Sprint. they are great seats and for my wife thats 5 feet tall they are great in the vert but for me no way. In the Gt they were comfortable and i loved them but in swapping the seat into vert was a mistake for me.
Again just my personal exp.
Richard didn't you have a good fit with a honda seat?

really, i'm not all that tall but i do have trouble with my thighs getting wound up on the steering wheel and the center rear view mirror being right in my line of sight with the gt seats.

the honda seats work swell for me but they were old when i got them. the fuzz is wearing thin in some places, especially on the cording around the driver's entry point. i'll be looking for replacements in the spring.
