Is there anyone out there with this rear bumper, and a U.S. style license plate that can hold the plate in the same location and snap a pic for me. I know the plate will hang down below the bumper bottom edge. I would like to see by how far. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I plan to be different and run the lower part with either my red center section and swift lights, or a Euro upper and tails if I can get my hands on a set. Just need to see what a US plate sitting in the lower piece would look like. I know it's not made for one to be mounted, I just don't like the louvered later model year bumper style.

what year is that model?

This looks like mk3 tail brakes + center light with mk2 bumper... That's why I done to my mk3 but I remove center light so I can mount the license plate (which is shorter than your) which looks 100% better... IMHO.

Borrowed picture and the member no longer has the car.

Just to be clear on the picture you want to see:

A North American style license plate mounted in the bottom half of either a MK2 Swift GTi or MK2 (Canadian Market) Turbo Sprint/Firefly?

If so, I can stick a license plate frame down there temporarily on my T3 and take a picture of it tomorrow for you.

Or you can imagine what the plate would look like by referring to T3ragtop's photos of his resto rod vert rear bumper from his excellent build thread.

Here's my MK2 T3 with stock on right, and modified plate position on left. BC license plate dimensions are 11.75 inches wide by 6 inches high. It even has the mid-wing!

Photo-shopped the upper mid-section for a MK2 to create a what-if version of the MK3 center reflector.

Quick photoshop MK2 to MK3.. (okay after maybe getting into a simulated fender-bender)

Thank you. Exactly what I was looking for. I like the look and now can source a bumper with confidence.

You're very welcome! Look forward to seeing your completed restyling especially if you decide to go with the Euro style MK4 lights?

Don't forget that you need plate lights in the US as well

Definitely. I will be mounting some LEDS above the plate.
