Do you have a link to the cheaper one? Anyone actually buy one to confirm fitment and quality?

Easily available, but I have heard dubious things about the quality, lots of bent fins due to poor packaging and assembly.

i bought one of those, the exact radiator, about a year ago before the pricing settled in so i got a smokin' deal.

there's another seller with that radiator who markets from the usa west coast at $149US with varying shipping amounts. they all get shipped from shanghai. expect a shipped price of $200 - $220US.

i received mine in excellent condition, packed with styrofoam planks. good core, okay welding, fan shroud mounting lugs for the stamped steel shroud (although i'll run a 12" direct mount high efficiency aftermarket fan.) 2" core.

hey all, I have some good news ...I recently bought 2 alloy radiators from this guy on eBay and they fit perfectly in my 2 GTi's; one has an AVO Turboworld Stage 2 Turbo kit installed and there were no issues to get the radiator to fit.

Here is the link to the radiators on eBay;

...and this is what one looks like installed

i used the same radiator in my "monster" project.
Image

i didn't use the factory fan, though. i used a 1600 cfm 12" slimline fan. it moves considerably more air than the stock fan and it draws less current.
Image

the first fabricated aluminum radiator i got cost me $225 shipped. i recently bought another one for my new project from the same seller you showed in your post. same radiator $80 cheaper - i liked that. :D

you have to use spacers on the top mounts to keep the top tank off the upper radiator support or you'll wear a hole in the radiator. i used short pieces of aluminum tubing for spacers. :wink:

30% on CIF value and then 15% V.A.T on top of that. :shock:

Same cooling setup as the stock geo metro radiator? Not sure how many rows/size of tubes on the stock metro versus this aluminum radiator. My geo will be setup for a gas saver so I do know more heat yields nor mpg. This is why I'm asking.

Unless there's something seriously wrong with your cooling system, the coolant temperature is controlled by the thermostat, not the capacity of the radiator :roll:

Or do you mean how much heat will be "radiated" into the engine compartment to heat up intake air, which I assume you've already insulated? I don't know about that, but I think it's fairly safe to assume that regardless of number of rows/tubes that the heat energy produced by the engine and therefore removed from the system via the radiator will be the same.
