Looks like when I installed the timing belt in my daughter 91 Suzuki swift I got the timing off by 5 degrees. The car ran good but smog numbers are way off.

My question how do I make sure the timing is correct between the crank and cam when installing the belt.

Thanks

There are timing marks on both the crank and camshaft. What motor? 3 cylinder? 4 cylinder? SOHC or DOHC
