Hello everyone...
Over a year ago my 1999 Swift blew a head gasket, and after that repair my piston rings failed.
NOW
I've finally sent the head to be rectified, got a new timing belt, pump & crank sprocket
The Fuel pump has been replaced
The sparkplugs have been replaced
I have compression (new piston rings)
&
Replaced the MAP sensor
NOW, no matter what i try, the car wont start
I'm running out of options,
the Crank sensor reads 412 ohms
the Cam sensor reads 810 ohms
and the Timing reads 5 degrees Advance
According to my scanner... there are no faults

I need help

If you put a gasket on the oil pan, that will cause this symptom. It spaces the crankshaft sensor too far away from the crank sprocket. Use RTV only to seal the pan.

Hello everyone...
I have a 1999 Suzuki Swift with a 16 valve, 1.3L, MPFI system
I had rebuilt the engine after the rings had failed (shortly after buying the car)
The car had sat in the driveway for about a year before I got it all back together.
NOW the car wont start after I changed the timing belt.
I got it in TDC, i made sure all the valves were closed on the #1 cylinder
I got it with the Cam-shaft in I (intake) first, all it did was back-fire
I changed it to E (exhaust) with a new're timing belt (just in case the previous one had stretched to much)
The Fuel pump has been replaced
The spark-plugs have been replaced
I have compression (new piston rings)
&
Replaced the MAP sensor
NOW, no matter what i try, the car wont start
I'm running out of options,
the Crank sensor reads 412 ohms
the Cam sensor reads 810 ohms
and the Timing reads 5 degrees Advance
According to my scanner... there are no faults

It seems as if there is a very low amount of fuel because its like the engine wants to start and its drowning for fuel and/or if it was out of time (but i've checked that about 100 times)

I need help
There must be something i've missed and due to the anger I'm getting I might have missed it...

Engine backfire is caused by an imbalance in the air-to-fuel ratio of the vehicle. Backfires occur in one of two places. A backfire in the intake manifold is caused by a ratio that is too lean (not enough fuel). A backfire out of the exhaust system is caused by a ratio that is too rich (too much fuel).

Thanks for the advice...

I lined up the timing on the #4 cylinder and changed the spark-plug cables and the car started!!! :alien:

Its the little things that one overlooks that make big problems!!!

NOW :buzz:
It seems as if it wants to kick down the revolutions on park BUT remains idling a little under 2000 RPM's, it doesn't happen while driving...
What sensor could I be checking for this little problem???
