Could be a wheel bearing going bad, or the exhaust system rubbing against the inside of the tire. Does it seem to happen in turns?

No....just going down the road and all of a sudden....about a 2 second burst....I jacked up the rear and wiggled both tires...no play at all....spun them and the passenger showed a little rubbing...guess it was shoes against the drum...driver side was quiet..... Looked the exhaust over from front to back and found nothin that would rub or bump....? ? ? ?

Ignore the spam post above from hanr. If you're running stock rims and tires I don't think it would be wheel rub. How old is the exhaust? it may be a baffle in the muffler or possibly the cat. If you say it's from the rear I would suspect the muffler baffle. Wheel bearings tend to make noise in cornering first when they start to go.
