I have had this headder on two of my Swifts. I got it a couple of years ago. It's a 4-2-1 design which is more for midrange power. It doesn't disappoint. Mid range power was noticeably better than stock. Car ran smooth and pulled harder all the way to redline. Build quality is excellent. Fitment was also perfect. The flange is very thick and well built. Note. I got the ceramic coated version and it burned off in a couple of weeks. I have since had the headder professionaly coated with cermakrome and it has lasted over the past year. No real signs of it peeling/chipping. If you can find one I suggest paying the extra money and going with the stainless steel headder just for the sake of longevity. Well...stainless looks better too :P

I too have a Genie and can say only good things about it. I noticed the difference right away, and it was good for roughly .15 in the 1/4 for me.

Midrange torque is excellent and gives 2nd and 3rd gear lots of get-up-and-go.

I must qualify: this is compared to stock.
I have not tried cultus, janspeed, etc.

Worth every penny to me tho.

I too have only compared this to stock and not other headders. I used it with 1 7/8", 2", and 2.25" piping. 2" worked best for me. 2.25" gave me more top end but it came at the sacrifice of some bottom end.

yeh i also have these header's and am very happy with them...makes the car accelerate harder and is a fairly cheap mod to do for starters, allong with a well designed exhaust system.

I may be selling myne soon (not due to any problem with them) just because im trying to get started on the forced induction project :P if anyone is interested....PM me!

take it eazy ppl

I happend to find one of these at a junk yard, and it is a great add-on. I definatly felt the power increase, expecially in the top end. I will post some sound clips of it bolted to the Genie Catback with no muffler...I think it sounds awesome.

ok, just fully installed mine and I must say 2nd and 3th received an improvement; just what I needed for the 1/4mile. :D

You can actually feel the car pulling stronger when you shift from 2nd to 3th.

after 4000rpm you'll notice some big improvement.

i don't see how you noticed a power increase specifically in the top end.. the 4-2-1 header is for low-mid range torque if I'm correct.

While the design is optimized for midrange power you definetly feel more pull at the top with it.

Just installed a Genie on yet another Swift. Power gains are definetly there and a much nicer exhaust tone from it too :D.

Got Genie headers from Parts Co in NZ, $300, instant bolt on power, made a big difference.
For best results install genie header, low to mid range power and cultus intake high range power. Gives a real good power surge from the start to the top end on the revs in all gears. :D
( Lost some low down power with cultus intake compared to standard but better at high revs )

I contacted Genie looking for a 1.6 for my swift, and they told me they don't make em. Where, oh where, can I get this trusted namebrand header for my gti?

Edit: had it in my head that GTi were 1.6 and regular metros and such were 1.3. DUnno where I got that from! Lol.

Right here in Canada! But they have headers for the GT, which has a 1.3 engine.

http://www.marcor.ca/genie2.htm

I have one and I love it.

Does Marcor still have any supply though? Last I heard a member on here bought up the last one. Would be great if they started stocking them again.

I just fired off an email, but I don't know if they're reply. The website hasn't been updated since 2004.

I fired off an email to Genie, and they want a lot of money and shipping, youch. Around $650 for 1 header. A bit too much. I think maybe we can talk to a N American supplier and if they don't have it, maybe they can get one for their next order. Dunno.

Where can we buy this header? Actually, I'm currently working on my truck mods and I'm planning of replacing my old truck's header with this Genie header.
