Hi, gang,

I am putting a G13BB from a 2000 Chevy Metro LSI into a 1966 Datsun Bluebird. I am using a 1988+ Samurai transmission.

What combination of flywheel + clutch disc + pressure plate + throwout bearing should I use?

Searching here and elsewhere has provided conflicting answers. Can someone clarify for me, please?

Best,

Jesse.

The Samurai clutch kit should bolt straight up to the g13bb flywheel, in my part of the world the Sammy had a g13a which is the same as a g13b but had a 77mm stroke instead of 75.5mm, clutch kits were the same/interchangible AFAIK.

Thanks, Dattman. That's very helpful.

Two follow-up questions:

1. Can I use a pre-1998 1.3L Metro flywheel on my 2000 1.3L crank? My donor was A/T, and I cannot find 98-00 G13BB flywheels for sale in the US.

2. Will a Samurai header fit the G13BB head? If someone can just say yes/no, it'll save me buying a Samurai exhaust gasket to see if it matches up.

Best,

Jesse.

Yes for sure on the flywheel.
I don't think so on the header. Almost for sure no on that one. Now, I am almost certain that a header from a 1.6 16valve sidekick/tracker(usually 4drs but some 2drs had that engine), will bolt to your head, and very likely will clear everything, but that will be hard to tell you for sure on clearance

Someone here put that engine in a samurai, search a bunch and you should be able to find his thread, might have some helpful tidbits.

I haven't found any threads here or on Samurai sites that have useful detail regarding putting a G13BB into a Sammy.

But, further research suggests that the 96 and 97 Geo Tracker are the years that have the proper exhaust manifold.

Those years have round exhaust ports, like the G13BB; the Samurai and other Trackers have rectangular ports.

Not coincidentally, the 96 and 97 Tracker is also the source for the rear-sump oil pan with hole for crank sensor.

What are you going to do for a speedometer output? I considered the Sami trans but abandoned it for a Sidekick trans in my Colt swap because it has a speedo output. Pretty cool project you have going though.
