Hi guys. It's been a long time since I've been here.

I've got some troubling issues with my brake lights. At first they would not come on at all, but that turned out to be a faulty brake light switch and I replaced that. For the next 8 hours they worked fine until the other night when only the center light would come on indicating the brakes have been applied. I've gone over the bulbs, fuses, and rechecked the switch. All are in working order.

The center light will come on when the pedal is pushed, but the other two will not. Although they do come on when I turn on the headlights, just not the brake lights.

Any clue as to what may be causing this??

that's because the brake lights are single bulbs in single cells on each tail light. ;)

there's only one 1157 dual element bulb in each tail light assembly. the other cells have 1156 single filament bulbs.

Son of a bi**h! Thank you t3!! You just saved my sanity.

I had sent my son (with an 1157 in hand) to the parts store down the street. I told him the guy behind the counter would help him find the correct bulbs. Now, this is completely my fault, I just assumed they were the correct bulbs.

I just ran outside and pulled out the bulb and guess what? It's an 1154. [facepalm] I should have paid attention. Okay, problem solved.

Thank you t3! Have a great day Sir. :D
