I was working on Tim's intake & 60mm throttle body mod again tonight and got down to the throttle cable arm mod. I modified it exactly like mine of which I run a Hitachi 60mm TB. Went to install it on his TB and found the hole was way too small to fit the shaft

Tim bought a Unisia Jecs 60mm throttle body off some Nissan. Dan should be able to tell us what motor and car it came from; I don't know. I will make it work with some additional machining, but it is a pain in the ass.

Moral of this story is, do not buy anything but a Hitachi long shaft 60mm TB for this motor or you will create way more work for yourself than is necessary.

Later,
Mike

Modified throttle cable arm on Tim's 60mm TB. Lots of grinding to make it fit right. Also note this TB has heavier springs than the Hitachi TB. Tim will have to tell us if the gas pedal is OK or hurts his foot  I installed both springs for safety. If one of them breaks, then there is another to close the throttle plate

Tim's mod IAS. Note two grooves carved to use old coolant tubes for the new idle air bypass hoses. JB Weld bridge to isolate the two tubes. Mount this assembly on an aluminum plate with a 90 bend in it. Use RTV to seal.

I guess I just took for granted that the cam was the #1 part that would turn the 16v SOHC G13B into what it should have been. I had installed the cam, mod intake & 60mm TB all at once so didn't realize what each component would do for individual gains. Can't imagine how nice the header will work with these parts...well I bet she it gonna gain a pile of HP/TQ once again. Now what else can we come up with that will add some more zip to the car? I better get mine together so I can test the APEXi out. I know the fuel curve is messed up with the factory computer running the motor so there has to be some gains with a tuned fuel curve...

I have another intake in spare and I would to put a 60mm tb on it. But it is necessary to oversize the inlet of the intake to fix the tb on it ? And for the tps, what it the major modification to do for it ? The bolt paterb it is the same ?

All my pictures are gone :( Was there a server change that got rid of pics that were uploaded rather than linked from a personal server? I don't think I can find all those old pics to update this thread again. Sorry.
