im trying to figure out how honda people are getting 450hp out of their d16 using vitara pistons and they use them because they have thicker ring lands. im building another g10t and i have a set of 8v vitara pistons for it but when i measure the ringland and compare them to the 8v pistons the lands arnt much different then the stock g10t pistons.

my question is do the 16v pistons have thicker ringlands then the 8v ones

and would it be better to use the stock used turbo pistons or the vitara pistons

Maybe the Hondas have thinner ringlands? Though the 16v pistons probably are different. I don't know how they'd even attempt anywhere near that power with cast pistons  If my Sprint was only going to make 80hp I'd still use forged pistons.

they use the cast ycp teflon coated pistons from ebay.

btw i made 119.5 hp at the wheels with a slipping clutch with stock pistons. but now i want to move on to a better piston. everywhere i contact has a minimum 4 piston order though

who made them for you and what did they run you

another thought. can the 4 valve pistons be fly cut to accept the different valve placement

the 16v g16 pistons have ring grooves 1.2, 1.5, and 2.5. they also have bigger oiling holes.

jardamuth tells me that using those turns a g10 into an interference engine. another little bit of data is that the vitara pistons give a base compression of 7.5:1 .
