Been so long since Ive even thought of this topic...until I touched mine the other day and realized it was incredibly hot... Its a New coil that I installed as part of a recent rebuild.Stamped on the side it does call for an external resistor, but so did the orginal one and the 86 sprint has no external resistor. Was the only one available at the parts house. Is it normal for the coil to be so hot that you cant touch it?
