Help! Help!

Does anyone know the part number for the check valve in the MK1 turbo head? I am doing a head gasket and after reading posts and looking at the wonderful pictures posted by Mr.Spelling, I noticed that my head is missing yee check valve. I'm not %100 about the affects of running it with it out verses putting it in.

I have 'oil venturi' p/n 11112-73010 in my microfiche. can someone else confirm it's the right part? BTW it's only worth a few bucks and it's still available.

Ok, thanks a bunch. I saw another member put his together without one,
mine didn't have one and didn't seem to have issues.

I never had one in any of my mk2 turbos. I never had any issue, but I also never checked the oil pressure

i have seen 2 bits in g10 blocks. one fits in the oil passage in the block and the other fits in the head. the one in the head has a ball bearing in a short brass tube. there's a seat in the bottom of the tube and a slot in the top. i believe that's a check valve. when oil pressure pushes up against the ball it rises to the top of the tube and oil flows through the slot and up into the head. when the oil pressure subsides the ball drops into the seat and traps oil in the passages in the head to act as a prime at start up.

the fatter bit that is fitted into the block just has an orifice drilled through it. that's probably the "venturi."

i assembled my mk2 turbo3 engine with the check valve in the head but not the lower component.

i just looked at an unmolested mk2 turbo3 head and it does indeed have the check valve in it.
