the both times I have filled up the car takes about 7.9 gal to fill up. i'm not sure if my gas gauge works properly or not. what size gas tank do these cars have. 94 swift 4dr sedan with a 1.3L

I get about 270miles and I'm on E but I think I can drive further I'm just afraid too

10 gal tank is what it should have. The way I fix the fuel gauge problems is I pull the take. Make sure it's empty and clean. Clean the sender and make sure it's not burnt then I will put 5 gal gas in (half a tank) pull the cluster and take it apart. (Pop the front lens off) Pop the fuel gauge needle and put the cluster back in still l apart. Turn the key to run (make sure the car in on level ground) and wait about 15 min to make sure everything is where it should be and put the needle back on exactly at the half mark. That in most cases will make it accurate again. Another way but not the best is to drain the tank and put the needle on at the empty mark. Won't let you know for sure how much gas is left. But you will know 100% when it's empty.

hmmmmm interesting. I figured the gas gauge had to be a little off. shows a little less than what's actually in there.

what I have done in the past is fill a 2 gallon jerry can and drive it until it is completely out of gas. then take a mental note of how many miles you got out of that tank of gas, and then you have a better idea of how far you could go on a full tank. don't always bet on it being the same every time, driving habits will change the amounts.
I drove my gti until the needle was below empty, I was scared I was going to run dry.had a small jerry can with me. when I filled up with gas, it only took 31 liters.(441 km) tank holds 40. I could take the dash apart to remedy the problem, but the way it is it gives me a reserve if I need it. I could get 500km per tank, but that is pushing my luck  or I would be pushing my car
