Need to remover the air bag to get to the nut to remove the steering wheel (pulling the dash). Can't seem to figure out how to. I see four torque like blot/screw?

Yes 4 of them and they are quite seriously tightened. Get the correct tool bit.
I used a normal hex and didn't damage the tips of those bolts. I don't recall removing any wires.

speque, i think i used a 6 point 10mm deep socket on those when i pulled vert steering wheels.

disconnect the battery about 2 hours prior to trying to pull the air bag to avoid an unpleasant surprise. the sir circuit will hold an electrical charge on big capacitors for a pretty long time.

also, a static charge can pop the air bag. be sure to place it facing up on the bench to keep it from launching if a stray electrostatic charge deploys the bag. :blackeye:

Think I'll need some therapy, feeling overwhelmed tonight. Got the dash pulled, need to replace a leaking heater core. Missed disconnecting the heater control from behind. Broke a cable end, looks like a electrical connection(s). One seems pulled off but the other is missing. Its a two connector cable, one back and one green cable, went to a green connector tied to the bottom edge of the dash. Took a pic but it got dark and used the flash. Can you remove just the heater/core housing or the whole heater/blower fan/a/c housing(s)

Just for future reference the socket you need are called "E" torxs (like a torxs socket but extranal) that looks like a #8 or 10 but they go from 4-16 in most cases. Also common on headlight adjusters on new cars.

i'm really sure that i have had to pull the whole dash off to get the blower out as one unit on a vert.

i'm pretty sure that black is a ground and green/ black is an instrumentation ground.

keep in mind that it has been years since i pulled a dash, maybe 6 or 7. :ez_tongue:

Just swapped out my whole column. I had to adjust the darn steering wheel about 4 times just to get it to line up straight with the tires, finally got it. Works great now.
