Hello all!
I am getting 75mm P29 honda pistons custom made to fit G13B. The reason is simple: Our engines are getting old and worn...and overbore is the way to go when building a tuned NA setup.
Quality Japan made P29 pistons are available for a reasonable price, and modifying them to fit is cheaper than getting a custom made piston.
They are not forged, but for most of us...they DON'T need to be.
I will be getting a run of these pistons going with Mike at 3tech at the helm developing them based off of my performance head and 222/365 cams so the design and modifications will be good from 222/365 cam profile and under.
Anyone who is interested please reply/pm.

Do you have a rough idea as to cost?

i don't know much about pistons for now, but if i'll continue my project i'll replace stock pistons too.. so, what are + and - of those pistons compared to let's say oversized cultus pistons (74.5/75/76mm, 11.5:1 cr) that are on http://www.suzisport.com/shop/ or those on suzukird (ok, those cost more,..)

and how much modifications are needed to fit those honda pistons in g13b engine?

I had the cultus ones in my motor from suzi sport and they smacked all my valves when I had my 222/365 cams in!! Valve pockets we not deep enough!! These custom p29's from what I understand will be made to fit and all clearances accounted for, which will be a big bonus!! Have also heard of some nasty flaws some of the rally guys have found down south using the suzi sport ones!!

Were the cultus pistons genuine cultus ones? (stamped ART on the inside). Remember, there two types of cultus pistons; the standard one and suzukisport ones. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=48772

I have JE ones with a dome higher than the suzukisport ones and i'm running the 222/365 cams. BUT the pistons are not reaching deck height (they were designed for a g16). I wonder if they'll hit the valves with zero deck height. But I doubt it.

This offer for the modified p29 pistons is awesome. If I wasn't busy with the turbo project, I would have bought a set.

The suzisport pistons are made in taiwan, and like mentioned above there is not enough clearance for the valve with heavy cams.

I am about to put in an order for the core pistons.
The price won't be any more than $400 for a finished set with rings.
Does anyone want me to order them a set to get this started?

Thanks

So far there is one person who wants a set...If i can get more that would drive the price down significantly.

i would be interested but pistons need to be "plug and play" ready as everyone around here are really expensive IF they would even want to go into modifying anything for me..
any chance you can get em oversized to 76mm? if i'm going to overbore my engine (yeah, that's expensive too) i would like to get maximum out of it :P

pistons will be plug and play
I will have to find out about 76mm
I was told by someone smarter than me to not go above 75mm

A group buy would be great! It would make the price low!
Regardless I am getting mine machined two extra sets machined for whoever else.

I would definitely be interested in getting a set for my current build, so is the current price / what you are paying still about $400 (plus shipping) and if there was a larger order would that bring the price down any?

After looking at your last post answering half of my question, perhaps i worded it that wrong. Do you have any idea what they might cost in a group buy, i suppose it depends on the quantity. Any ideas though?

I'm not sure yet, sorry we have to run some off first to get down the costs.

The pistons I have to be made are claimed...so if more people would like sets let me know ASAP so I can order more cores.
Thanks,
Levon
