I had a real 1989 swift Gti in Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada, bought it from a junk yard, body and chassis had way too much rust for me to take it ended going to another wrecker 100% stripped. I reshelled the engine and soon to be the rest into a 1991 Pontiac firefly that has next to no rust. Just working out the bugs from the previous owner (wheel bearings, head gasket, sensors, ect) really fast, when I first got the GTI i never got to drive it or start it under its own fuel so not until I did the swap I was finally able to hear it run under its own fuel which is where I figured out the head gasket was gone then I repaired it and was able to drive a gti for the first time in my life and I loved it, can't wait to make this thing flawless, you can check out my Instagram for some photos http://Instagram.com/blinkryba

Found some pics of 1994 Metro GSI Canada market only.

Interesting , it appears to have swift headlights . The Canadian market got all the cool shit. aka firefly turbo.

Yes the Canadian Metro GSI had the Swift hood / headlights / upper bumper / grill / GT hatch spoiler / sway bars / 4 cyl motor .
Yes it is hard to beat the cool factor of the Canadian MK2 Turbo cars :D

I might as well add my two to the list in if anyone is keeping count. I've got a 93 that's been my daily driver for the last four years and a 92 that I'm using now. I have the 93 in the alley waiting for the weather to warm up so I can finish my turbo installation. Once that is done and roadworthy I'm going to transplant all the goodies into a 91 vert.

Yeah, 1988-1993 in gt trim. My bad

Can you show me a Mk1 NA GT?

Since we're enthusiasts:

NA saw the GTi in 1989.
NA saw the GT in 1990-1994

For the record I have two of the three colors for the 1989 GTi: Red and White. I have a line on a black one and when he sells it, I have first dibs. I've sold three GT's since 2010.
