Looking to anyone that knows what the difference is between the Gt and mk4/5 front strut brace? Anyone know if I could a Gt one to work on my 1999 swift chassis with a Gt engine? I really like the looks of the ultra racing one but don't wanna pull the trigger on buying one if I can't make it work. If it's just a matter of drilling different holes to make it fit then that's no biggie. Thanks in advance.

You could look for the chassis dimensions / measurements for both cars and then compare. I know the GT one is around. The mk4/5 should be also.

Only one company makes a brace for the mk4/5 and its cheap and very flimsy looking. Was just curious if anyone has used a Gt one on the newer body style.

Will be figuring it out here in the next couple of days as I will be making one for my 1996 Geo. I will be using as a template the ones that I bought from Murr at TurbineTech. Also, I will be making the lower brace and the rear tower brace. Another one is the floor brace behind the seats at the bolt hole for the shoulder harness.

I'm almost 100% certain the only difference is the hole size at the front large control arm mounting point. I have both braces, I'll try to look at them and confirm that. Perhaps try a pm to turbine tech, Jess might be nice enough to clarify, he will know

Why don't you fab one up yourself. There's not much to it

My bad I thought he said strut brace not underbody brace. I'm going to be doing all of them for my 96.

Nope, you win! The thread is called "front strut brace fitment". I was rambling about the wrong thing. I'd almost bet the strut one is the same. That is an easy thing to measure, I'll try and check a mk2 compared to mk4

Actually, I wouldn't even bother with one. The underbody brace is the important one. the strut mount are so close to the firewall, they're not going anywhere

Even under racing conditions Mike? I have a lower turbine tech brace on the car already. Just thought the top should have some support too.
