Hi guys and girls,
I'm looking for some suggestion's for my new car,
it a 1.3 sohc carb motor with 5 speed.

Image

I was thinking GTI side skirts, rear wing and 4 wheel disk brake.
along with a turbo and EFI conversion on the sohc engine while trying to keep the a/c.

Brakes for sure. Turbo inter-cooler scoop. Mags and a paint job. Side skirts would be okay if you can find them locally. Shipping those would hurt the pocket book.

I'd actually swap the trans before anything else--the 1.3 SOHC cars have the tallest final drive and I suspect there'd be a dramatic difference swapping in a 4.39 from a Mk4.

I also don't know that I'd bother with going through the effort to boost the 8v SOHC motor--if you can't find a G13B, then at least go with the 16v SOHC.

I don't give a crap about the outside of my car, so side skirts would be the last thing I'd do. I actually removed mine to save weight. I also care more about handling than power, so I'd add or upgrade the rear sway bar (not sure if the SOHC mk2/3 cars came with them) put in some caster bushings and cut the springs.

Looks like a nice clean car, congrats 8)

is it a DD?
Change all fluids

Driving it like it was stolen.?
rear sway bar (best mod)
I would add body brace and fix the first thing that broke after testing the limit of this Dime store car
probably transaxle
.
more power.? exhaust and intake Mod to make it breath better.!
.

Dont see too many GS Barina's around these days. If youre going to mod it and upgrade the engine it's probably best to try and find a semi decent condition GTI and use it as a donor car. I recommend you check with your states Road Authority if you do decide to do an engine swap as the Barina wasnt released with the G13B in Aust, only NZ as far as im aware.

thx for the good ideas guys, I was thinking of doing a gti clone with different badges. probably out of my price range at first, but over time no problem.
is that 16v sohc head a 1.6?
I'm not apposed to swapping the motor to a new swift motor or something else.
I was thinking of a white line sway bars f+r as a must.
I do have some parts that I took off my 5 door, like lowering spring, front camber bolts, after market steering wheel and a few parts off the motor.
The barina gs is a cool car, will I think. it has gti seat and steering wheel and the fog lights in the front bumper.
I'm not sure about the side skirts and rear wing being a option at sale, but the g13ba carb was the only g13b motor in a barina 3 or 5 door.
A ex of mine had a 5 door auto 1.3, but it keep braking the torque plates, 3 in 6 months if I remember.

back in 2000, I did a turbo on a g13b dohc motor of a mate, I never got to see it on full song. (I was told it was stolen, but I found out that the motor ended up in another mates mini.)

On a another note, is there anyway of improving front end grip under full throttle? (stock running gear and tune.)
I ask because I'm having trouble with my 5 door braking traction from 5000rpm in the wet. btw it has 155/75r13 tyres.

thanks, they are not my first choice, but they have grown on me.
well I'm working on some fiberglass parts right now and the cost so far is less than $100.00
less the cost of the resin.
just recycling old materials and parts.

Looking good. I'm digging the home made mid spoiler. Is that a step plate on the plate area?

Put a 5 channel amp in and a simple single 10 inch sub. Blammo. I'm going to be getting rid of almost every 4 channel amplifier I have and getting compact 5 ch. amps. I'm getting some new compact amps for all of my cars soon.

hello guys and girls,
this is what I came up with for a stereo, the subs are from a 2nd hand shop and the rest 2nd hand from ebay.
the only new thing is the fuse holder and fuse.

finished off the spare wheel cover with some gas struts, I should of waited to get the struts before cutting the timber
frame, also added the factory stickers.

Image
tried to buy some sway bars from ebay, but that didn't work out so now trying to work out a solution to this problem,
nothing a day at the wreckers can't fix :)

hey guys and girls,
sorry for the delay on the car, I had to stop work on it due to a head injury,
that happened while doing a gearbox swap on my driver.

Image

I'll be starting back on it after X-mas.

Hello guy's and girl's ,
my plains have changed again, my daily driver was written off in a hail storm.
It's only good for some parts now, so this means it's a mad rush to get the 3 door
up and running asap. it's going to be na. for awhile before I build the turbo motor.

a quick parcel shelf repair, by carpeting over the old speaker holes.

Image

Image

fuel flap mods, doesn't look any good but it works.

Image

Image

The mags are on but not fitted with hub rings yet, I do have centre caps for them.

Image

Image

the old bosh 044 fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and a gauge and intercooler and oil cooler.

Image

Image

Image

not sure about the turbo yet ,green is a high flow t28, and the Toyota is a ct12a.

Image

I might buy a new turbo yet, maybe a t25 or some thing like that. :yeahyeah
