i just ordered a megasquirt kit for the turbo motor I’m building for my metro. From what I’ve read, there are many people who have had some serious success with these "build it your self" units. With the on board map sensor and it's already integrated water injection control circuit, the free software, support group, ect. It’s all there. Just solder it on!

Really thats awesome b/c I curently am living off a student loan so any way to save money is perfect. I was given the tdo4l and the cooler and bov were cheapies from a friend. The only money i want to spend is on a wideband to make sure my poor man set up even works. I want something that works then i will spend the money on the electronics. Another thing..what about say greddy e-management or something like that.Its alot cheaper than mega squirt. Can the stock MAF adjust for boost with large enough injectors.

that truely is a pitty...the search option is ok at best. I am describing my setup..its just not complete. Sure i found some info but it wasnt that informative at all. Another thing is im just getting into stand alone system so therefore i dont understand the lingo. This is were ive come to find the advise i need. I am adding a turbo just like the forum index states so why does someone always have to tell to me search. Cant they resist the temptation to be an a$$. Oh sorry this forum isnt for bitching its for adding turbo or nitrous so ill continue on the you people are useless forum Thankyou

Engine = Stock Cb80 Daihatsu
Boost = 12 Psi
WHP = Unknown
Fuel = I dun Understand I Use Simple Hi-Octane.
Charger =Orginal Daihatsu Stock Turbo.
On Boost = 3500 Rpm Its takes The boost
Manifold = Orginal Daihatsu GTti Manifold.
Anything else = HKS Blow Of Valve, ACT Clutch Plate.

its with total Stock internals, Just overboosted It from 8 -9 Psi to 12 Psi Exact.

Stock knife edged,polished and balanced crank shaft.
Stock rods were giving a treatment to make them stronger(don't remember the name) and polished.
Every bearings and gaskets are new.
Custom 4mm oversized Venolia forged pistons.
Port and polish head,reshaped combustion chambers.
T3/T4 turbo with 3'' downpipe.
Custom 3'' mandrel bent exhaust.
Tial blow off valve and waste gate.
Custom 2.5'' mandrel bent piping.
Adjustable cam gears.
Oversized to 50mm stock T.B.
Walbro 255lph fuel pump.
Bosch fuel regulator.
Turbine tech fuel rail.
440cc injectors.
Jaz oil catch can.

IHI RHB5 off of a JDM subaru 2.0

If Turbo what manifold are you using ?
Homemade custom extra ugly manifold.

What RPM do you start pulling boost ?
3k, full boost at 4k.

And anything else you think might be worth sharing !? Needs a LSD! First gear floored is useless. Ebay intercooler, 2.5" charge piping.

I never posted mine, and since I have no dyno proof i'm not gonna get in details.

engine management : Megasquirt 2 alpha code 3.0.3

engine : minor port job, polish, SS standard size valves, 226/375 cam, stock bottom end.

boost : 25 psi

power guesstimate : 140-150ish WHP (could spin 2nd gear from rolling at 60km/h up to 90km/h, 3rd gear felt like it broke loose when I rode on cracks in the pavement)

fuel : 91

turbo : subaru WRX TD04L-13T

manifold : homemade

at what RPM you see boost : 1 psi under 3000, full 25 at under 5000rpm, no redline,

other thing to mention : pulls strong up to 7500rpm, can rev over 9000rpm.


like I said it didn't last long I couldn't do any 1/4mile runs with it. I think the fuel pump was the culprit (stock GT pump)
