i had no idea the original GT flywheel is 24lbs :blackeye:

can that k24 pressure plate fit my setup?

i have a lightened flywheel with stock clutch and PP... :oops:

the original g13 flywheel is NOT 24 pounds. this guy was talking about the 1.6 flywheel.

i weighed a g13 flywheel with the ring gear but no pins or pilot bearing at 11.5 pounds before i had it machined to lighten it.

That is correct. mine was the 1.6 sidekick flywheel. The rear wheel drive one.

Nice build. Great info. I think the holset is pretty big for your set up but there is an exhaust housing made to mount the factory dsm turbo manifolds. its a BEP housing. The 2.0 4g63 can acheive 20lbs around 3500 to 4000rpm. It flows great and will lower your turbo lag considerably. My.02. 8)

That would work if this was a hx35 the hy35 uses a vband housing. And if i were going to spend $300 on a exhaust housing i would have just bought a new turbo. The 9 cm housing is a very small housing and not far behind the small bep housing spool time. I will work on getting it going in the next few weeks. I just bought a 87 gta that i put a 6speed in for a daily. so i will update when i finish hooking up the wiring and plumbing the new turbo. Tjhanks Stephen

Ok im finishing up the oil lines and fuel lines. So after that i just have to tweak the plumbing to work. If everything goes well it will be going soon.

Its alive...... Im waiting for a coupler to come in so i can hook the pressure side of the turbo up. but i drove it around yesterday nice and easy about 10 miles and took it to have the new down pipe made. Will post videos when i get it on the dyno.

I know the dyno i use is stingy but i dont see how some guys are getting some outrageous high numbers. I wanted 300whp but it didnt happen. I have a few small issues i need to take care of befor i drive it more and i think i may have had my crank sensor retarded. so i need to check some things out but this is right at the limit of just frying the tires in third and forth with 2055015 nitto neo gens.

Well i found the culprete to my low oil pressure at idle and found out that this has been a problem with the last 1.6 also. The bypass valve in the oil pump stuck open. There was a little varnish in it and would not let it close. Out of the 3 oil pumps i had here the 1.3 one moved some and didnt seem to stick but both 1.6 pumps were stuck open. So we pulled out the by pass spring and piston and cleaned it off and cleaned the hole so it smoothly went in and out with no resistance and long be hold 25-30 psi at idle. So now just to fix my leaky water pipe and its time to go have some fun.

Because just shoving ridiculous boost down the throat of an engine will not automatically make high reliable horsepower......Efficiency is the name of the game, and the more efficient an engine is the easier it will make the power....

ItsMad GTi is said to make around 300hp @15psi still running a 1300cc engine :o :!:
Don't know if you read this but RUNUTS and DMWDave discussed how to net power, not only out of these engine because the basic principles remain the same!

I say this not just because of this build but because of my 1.3 build also. It put down 150whp on 8psi stock motor ported head with megasquirt and full msd. Most others are claiming 200+ whp on stock motor with a gandi chip most using the same t25 off a sr20. But the reason mine is low is two reasons a very stingy dyno where a few people have went straight to another dyno and made 25% more power on average on other dynos and two because my crank sensor was a like 7 degrees off so there is a bit more power to be had but still on any other dyno i would have been pretty close to the 300 mark. But none the less all a dyno is is a tuning tool and the real test for the power is the track times.

And thanks the turbo is awsome comes on quick and now that is is regulating correctly.(had to enlarge wastegate hole) it was holding 13psi and has been adjusted up to 18psi but want to go back to the 25 where it now goes straight up to instead of slowly spiking up to it.

I dropped down to 15psi and ran at our 1/8th mile track on street tires and ran a 9.4 81mph.

Its a 1.6 and it does good like 7 psi in first then instant just about in 2nd to about 24psi that i know of. Im only turning 6200. More info on the internals? Stock crank? What pistons and rods? What were the rods that didnt work (the spun bearing ones?) Are the pistons and rods readily available or custom?

rods that spun were a set of pauter honda d16 rds machined to fit and one had a spun bearing and i had it resized. That was the one that spun again. So i got a another 1.6 short block and it is stock crank all standard has been check for cracks and journals polished but still just stock. New rods are pauter x beams made for the g1.6 suzuki like 850 for the set. Pistons are wiseco for a honda d16 from ebay for like 450. They say like 8.5 to1 compression on the honda so about 9.8 to one on the suzuki.
