hey all, I was wondering what people have their dual carbs jetted at as far as mains, as well as what venturi sizes people are running.?.

I am asking because I am running dual mikuni's 40phh's on the DOHC motor, they are stock as far as i can tell.. And am wondering what these size carbs have for stock setups, and what they should be changed to..

I was also told that going down to about a 27 venturi would be better suited for this motor.. I don't know a whole lot about carbs but I have messed with them as far as getting everything in tune..Just wondering what some people are running..

Thanks, Scott

Oops, sorry Bolivar...for some reason I thought you were running 40's.......thus leading to the thought you might have some ballpark figure for sco44 to get started on.

Would you or anyone else be willing to share what jetting and what sized venturies you are using?

My last engine with 40DCOE's was pretty much standard except for some head work.

I was running :

32 Chokes
Mains 155
Air Correctors 160
Emulsion Tubes F16
40 F8 Idle Jet
40 Accelerator Pump Jet

Only guide line. Rolling road is the only way to set up properly.

my jetting on dual 40 mm mikuni's, full exaust intake porting.

12.5 mm float setting

34mm venturi

main jets- 140

pilot jets- 57.5

main air jets- 180

how does this look to carb experts, also what timing should I run?

Scott

I'm running twin dhla carbs with 34 mm venturi
mains 147
air 170
normal emulsion tubes
50 idle jets

( not enough power with these jets , i'm thinking maybe the venturis are too big for this engine)

I've had them on my last engine running 32mm venturi
mains 130
air 170
rich emulsion tubes
50 idle jet
(ok about the power but only in the upper rpm band above 5500)

Tomorrow i will try 30mm venturies with different jets to see if they respond better in the middle rpm range from 4000 to 7000
