OK, so heres the deal. I am putting a 13B GTI DOHC engine in a '25 T roadster. I am going really old school and using twin SU carbs. I need a distributor with vacuum advance. Everything I have read says use a distributor from an '89-'91 Swift. Found these reman Cardone 31-523 on ebay. Before I hit "Buy it now", just want to be sure. Can anyone absolutely verify this is the right one. Don't mind spending the $$$ for the right one, just don't want to spend the $$$ for the wrong one ! HELP :)
Cheers,
Stewart.

That one will work with carb or TB. It is a basic vac carb that is not computer controled. And it is for the 4 cyl.

Set up a timmng light and take readings every few hundred rpm. Its no different that a gm hei dist that you can swap out springs and weights to get a different curve. They are just under everything so not as easy.

Thanks guys, got one on its way.
Not sure if my project will be of much interest to you guys, plus I wouldn't know which section to post it under!
It will be very light, aiming for about 1100lbs, very low, and nimble. It will be a spaceframe of 1" round and square 16 ga, with the sheet metal just hung on the outside. Originally was going to use a 3 cylinder engine, even got a ported head and cam package from 3Tech, but gave in to a big block!! I've got a Samurai 5 speed that fits behind it, so the whole engine/trans combo will weigh less than 200lbs.
Just started scabbing the sheet metal together at the moment, and then I can plan the spaceframe to fit the body.
If there is any interest, I could do a build thread, if someone could tell me where to put it
Thanks again for the help. I have zero knowledge of these engines, so came here for help.
Cheers,
Stewart.

PS, why 2 vacuum ports, and do I need both?

I think it is G16 dizzy.
It will work if it is 4 cylinders but you have to change shaft to 3 pots in order to work.

Cheers
