Stock timing sounds fine for 8psi and vitara pistons, remember that your CR is around 7.5 now, that's why there's more room for timing.

Regarding the pump, you don't need one for 8psi.

Regarding the slow launch, I guess you need more timing down there. An aftermarket ECU will definitely help you. My launch isn't as good as before, when the engine was NA, but it's right about there, it's not so bad.

Well I did a stop light run lastnight...on my left was a SR20 in a Bluebird SSS and to my right was a Toyota Corolla with some type of Turbo charged engine... As the light changed Green...I was off, I lost the SR20 in the first gear and the Toyota by the 2nd gear...At 3rd gear I couldn't really see the lights of either car so I slowed down to about 140kms. It's the first time that I really opened up the throttle that far...It was amazing  Guess when those guys see the Swift again they won't be too hasty to line up against me  I guess what fooled them is that the car isn't really loud, it looks totally stock except for the 2 gauges on the pillar ( but alot of guys have that now for style so...) and only when the boost builds do you hear the BOV...(I love it...ultimate sleeper  )
I'm gonna do 2inch exhaust this weekend, and try to get some colder sparking plugs for the engine. All in all the car is runnin really great....

anyways thanks carrlo for the info...
I'll keep you posted...

New Tires = New times.

BF Goordrich G-Force Sport

13,43 @ 110,8 (1/2 second quicker than previous measurement)

Best of all, I did my best 60ft time... I can't wait to see what can it do at the 250m track

damn that are some nice results, are you still driving without an lsd?

your last video is awesome caarlo, sounds and looks very powerfull, how much boost are you running in that video? 2 weeks ago i made my first run on 1.1 bar and it sounds just like your car.. insane anabolic sound

Hi Sebas, thanks for the compliments.
I'm glad that your car is running strong after
so much work, time and money invested in the car.

Regarding my car, it's running without LSD, 1 bar boost.
Wouldn't like to go higher because the turbo is small, just like
the intercooler, and intake temperatures start climbing real
quick above 1 bar.

Looks nice. Same as the stock one?
Did you also change the tooth angle to reduce the stress on the bearings and gearbox housing?

Hey Caaarlo it looks like you are missing an oil hole for 5th gear...

It looks like you have moved up to a slightly bigger tooth size, I see 1st gear is a bit taller, probably 2.91 or 2.69 depending on whether you have 12 or 13 teeth on the pinion gear, the close centre distance is a real PITA in trying to use a bigger tooth size, having less than 14 teeth on a pinion gear is not generally recommended (even though factory has only 12 on first).

It doesn't look like the gears have been ground from these photo's :? not neccessary on straight cut but is important on helical.
Otherwise looks good  will be interested to hear how these hold up

Ruud: Same angle to keep silent operation. Forged steel, larger teeth, taller 1st and 5th. Reducing angle and keeping noise down would require wider gears, which is not possible.

Dattman: The hole for 5th is not visible in the pic. Yes, 1st is 2.91 and 5th is 0.84. 1st has 12 teeth and grinding them was a PITA.

I'll intstall the gears this week and then tell you how it goes. I hope they won't brake as easy as the stock ones.

Well, I have used the gears for the first time. Still in the Break-in process, bt they feel ok, a little bit noisier than stock, but not as much as a straight cut gearset. I hope they last. :?

The car keeps improving.

New gear ratios = better times.

Tires = BFGoodrich G-Force Sport 195/50R15 (street radial tire)

12.979 @ 117.43.

Plot:

Black = New Setup
Red = Stock gears, BFGoodrich tires
Green = Stock gears, Old Yokohama A520 Tires, 195/45R15

Is the block a 1300 or a 1600? Read all the 11 pages, yet unable to figure what block it is. Call me stupid.

It's still a g13b block, not sure how more development will happen on this car now that Caaarlo has turned to the dark side

Not yet, the car is for sale, and I still have to find a decent VTi. But still improved a couple of things. The engine now has an MLS gasket and the turbo booster has been improved.

It's a G13b with 75mm pistons = 1334cc
