Interesting, whats the most youve taken off the surface of the head, and how does it actually affect cam timing, like degree/0.00X" ?

I noticed you didnt open up the exhaust too much, but more rather smoothed it out so you can see the valve.

Heres mine, which youve probably seen some pics of in the other threads
http://www.fyredaug.com/lolsprint/part8b.html

what is your critique on my "hack job" compared to yours? Do you have a flow bench to document any gains? I also noticed you didnt do anything to the guides, neither did I, but ive read about "shaving them down" a little and smoothing them for a few cfms.

I also dont see the brass tubes on the intake valves either, maybe its the angle of the pic? if they were removed, are the gains negligible?

what do you think about opening up the intake side? I was careful doing the exhaust to be as even as I could, but I hear the intake side is more sensitive. what (if anything) else would you do to help support 200hp and 8000rpms, just theoretically for now anyways

Covered a million times.

Its a hack job

I don't have one, but I know somebody that does, and have several heads that have been extensively flowed, to the point where I know what works, and what doesn't. You can cut back the guides if you want, but in the interest of reliability, I leave them.

The effect is not insignifigant.

Best to leave it. Its a good port.

I need to put together a 'how to' book on 3cyl. performance.
Tell me your plan, and I'll tell you what I'd do.

ill try to keep it simple, stock ecu ate another head gasket, potentially caused some damage in cyl #3 (190 190 160 dry on ~12000km)
now msnse'd
I want to run a high base compression (9.5 minimum)
18psi. I have the fuel and turbo for it
8000rpm 200whp
want to ditch the +6 gear for a stock one ((thoughts??)) (was happy going from 10 to 6)
already have your biggest mk2 cam (unless I can be a test subject for something even crazier, but you probably already have it figured out and this is it, I want like .400 lift  )
fully statically and dynamically balanced bottom end using t3 rods (ditching these n/a ones) and using 76mm vitara pistons
What do I do to the head now? You say my job was a hack job as if I went with completely blind and probably have them all uneven or something, but im fairly confident I did a "decent" job on it. after all it made 110whp without revving it all out on a blown head gasket, stock ecu, pooled oil in head resulting in smoke at 5000rpm, smaller intake and exhaust and 10psi. I dont think I "wrecked" my head as I felt a little insulted. I know I havent done a hundred of these like you, but give me a chance here, im willing to improve on it with another few hours when I build this new bottom end.
its also copper head gasket'd and o-ringd by a reputable machine shop
I will rent professional dyno time

I dunno, its late, that was just thrown together, if you can say anything (make sense of it) let me know.
(also, if you know what these pistons will put compression to on a theoretical stock t3 motor that would be great, it almost seems like its gonna be 8.X?

And in one sentence tell me how much better the mk1 head is for quench and flow with the rocker design if you can think of something.

appreciate the time mike, curious what your record whp number was with any t3 motor

Thats why I stopped answering your questions.
You called it a hack job, I agreed. Now you're insulted and telling me you did a decent job?
Apparently you still don't want my advice.
Carry on.

I put it in quotes like that because it was previously referred to as a hack job, I didnt call it that. You never answer questions, whats the big deal

I always answer, and you always dispute it.
Its not a big deal, but its real frustrating.

$375 Is not a bad price at all! knowing you got a completely rebuilt, insane head sitting on top of those 3 cylinders of fury.

i'm looking for a mild cam that i'll get more go... but not blow anything apart on my completely stok 3 cyl. n/a. any info on something like this?

What they are getting at, is you ask a question, then answer it in the same breath, or you try and debate the answer.

Just ask a question, don't add on anything else, you have got nothing to prove. It's simple really... 8)

however, since I didnt get an answer I ordered g16b pistons expecting a compression drop. I hope they are the right ones

It sounds like you don't need one.
No.
I was thinking about it today. If I had a laptop, I could probably have it done by the end of next week.
I'm just gonna be lying on the beach all week.
May as well get something done

i've got at least 3 or 4 "3Tech" style laptops. they've been there, done that, and are just young enough to remember it. For the most part everything still works, maybe a few cosmetic issues here and there. a few signs of old age.

if you want one, or two, for your little trip, i'll donate to the cause. by the looks of it, some people still wont take a hint, going on a couple years now! maybe seeing something in print would help drive it home.

hey man what could be worked out for a project that includes future turbo? would prefer not to change the compression ratio, but would love a cam and polished valves. my goal is to have at least 100 whp on my 91 na vert. as I said I'd like to turbo it in the future, so what would you reccommend?

also somebody mentioned emissions. seeing as i'm pretty much local to you, maybe you could give me a better idea knowing what the standards are in ontario. also could you give me an idea on if my goal is possible with these restrictions?

basically assume I know nothing and assemble a package for me, price it and everything's great. the cars even sitting right now so i'd have no trouble bringing the head to you to get done beforehand. thanks!

You don't say what motor you have.
Shoot me an email, or PM, and we can work it out.
