Was digging thru stuff tonight and ran across a 60mm throttle body. Does anyone use those any more? I had one on my '00 Metro 16v SOHC.

I was surprised to find it on my shelf buried under a bunch of other stuff. Wonder if someone would want to buy it. What's the going rate these days?

Oh yea. My old '00 Metro is sitting in southern Minnesota. The guy is taking good care of it. I have my '06 Ion Redline with some tweaks. What's new up north? Getting ready for a Florida trip to escape this freakin Arctic cold.

Hey Mike,

You got any use for a 16v SOHC stock cam and or a stock cam pulley? I have those here. Also a set of stock injectors and a stock fuel rail.

Those cams are pretty easy to find these days, but I can always use good cores.

I have a 60mm throttle body from SR20DE engine in my gti. In addition I change stock intake pipes into new pipes with bigger diameter. I use also K&N replacement filter. Thanks to this intake operating parameters were improved. Max power increased 3,6 [HP] and torque 7,5 [Nm]. Moreover horse power and torque increased in all range speed.

In the evening I put some photos with my air intake system.

Greetings,
Michael

Well you've disabled Private Messaging and there is no direct way to contact you unless you have subscribed to this thread. In that case, I wanted to know if you still have your 60mm TB around somewhere.

Yes the TB is here. I will check the PM settings and get things updated so you can get a hold of me. Sorry.

Holy Crap you are alive!
As for the 60mm tb. well I'm a skeptic. I had one. I think a 50MM tb is large enough. a 60mmtb is way to big for a 1.3L. There is a better way of explaining it,,something about velocity??

Tony? It's been a real long time. I sold that 60mm TB to a fellow out west. Don't remember who. How you been doing and are you still driving the Metro/Swift cars? I still have my Ion Redline. Gonna trade it in next June for something fuel efficient. It eats 92 octane gas like crazy.

Sorry I screwed up on your name. I know there was a Tony somewhere =) Yea my Ion turned out to be a good car. Only got 10,500 miles on it but not a lick of trouble. Got me some different injectors, smaller pulley, software, additional heat exchanger and boy she's a handful to keep on the road when she comes on the pipe  Should be good for mid 13's in the quarter but I won't bring her to the track.

LNLC, was that a chat room thing we did way back then? I recall the name but don't remember anything else. Have you seen that guy who bought my old '00 Metro on here? Last I heard he got it to run high 14's I believe?

Heck, I just noticed it is coming up on 10 years of me being on this forum. Holy crap that is a long time :buzz:

I don't mean to break up the party here, but I want to ask a real noob question. On the stock TB I know the size is 45mm. Now is that the size at the TB plate or at the inlet? If it's the size at the plate, what is the size of the inlet? I measured mine and it was 60mm.

When talking tb diameter its the id of the bore at the throttle plate. Did you measure od of the inlet?

I always have this 83mm q45 tb sitting here. Overkill much?

Maybe the stock dual 57mm tb off my mustang?
