Well now you can go out and get a piece of plywood to fab up a temporary, or canabalize one of your many spares.

Sorry to hear....I did that once on a chevy truck and damn near poo'd my pants. Hopefully you didnt also bust your windshield like I did.

I probably would have done more damage to mine if it happened to me. The power doesn't come on strong till 4ooo rpms so I would've shifted at alot more r's and been going a bit faster. You should have got one of these when the price was low like I did. http://www.ebay.com/itm/250947716677?_t ... RI&vxp=mtr

Can we presume you were "getting a little wood" on a public thoroughfare w/o benefit of registration & insurance?

Saw that happen once way back in the 60's when I was in HS. Shocked middle aged female driver lost control & went off the road. She was lucky, hood smashed WS where there was a hay field & nothing to hit. She did get showered in shards of glass. Gas station attendant had failed to latch hood.

My 1st cars were Sunbeam Alpines. Then I had SAAB 96-900 models for many years. All have hoods hinged at front.

If I lived outside the city my yard would likely be full of cars too! :D

Rock auto has 2 hoods left at $100...

If all the swift/Metro/sprint stuff you owned, were Guns ,bottled water, and freeze dried food, the Liberals would call you a "right wing, doomsday survivalist". :D :D . (Which I personally would take a complement.  ) It seems I am not the only one who could build two or three metros/swifts if we only had a solid Tub to work with. Congratulations on your for-sight to stockpile (read hoard, :D ) a good supply of replacements. also kudos for finding an understanding spouse (Truly a rare find to find someone who accepts a fleet of cars parked outside.) Best wishes, Jonathan

had that happen to me once with an old model Jimny...fortunately my windshield did not crack, but the impact moved it within the frame where the bottom of the glass was almost off the frame’s edge.

Hope you get it sorted quickly!
