Thanks for the reply! I'm in northeast Ohio (44030) but I have family in columbus. What price would you be looking for?

Also, since I don't have one, I'd need the mounting stuff too :)

i'd advise you to just get new hardware. the bolts are standard metric stuff, new polyurethane bushings are available off the rack at auto zone and those come with new D brackets. new end links are available on ebay for under $40 both ends and you can get the little puck bushings for them in a pack of 8 (does both sides) from the same rack as the D bushings at auto zone.

cash and dash for the sway bar, $20 (i truly forget what i paid for them but i think it was more than that and i know that shipping was more than that.)

sounds good. do you happen to know which one of these it is? :

Front sway bars:
18mm - 1989-91 SOHC 1.3L Swift
22mm - 1992-94 SOHC 1.3L Swift, 1989-91 GT/GTi
24mm - 1995-01 Swift/Metro, 1992-94 GT/GTi

If you PM your address I could find out how close to my relatives you are. Thanks!

Those are the best bars. Same as the 92+ GT.

as usual, "best" is hard to define.

i prefer the 89-91 front sway bar on a daily driver. the thinner bar gives decent control and a less bone jarring ride.

the bigger bar really keeps the tires planted but transfers every crack in the road to my butt. not bad for a performance deal but not the most comfortable thing on my drive to work. it's like starting my day by having my ass kicked. :-P

it appears that my mk2 gt front bars are gone. when i bolt one on my red vert project car this spring i guess it will be whatever is available at picknpull, probably a mk4/5 sedan's iron. with scrap steel prices going back up, their pricing for a sway bar is $30, a $3 core charge, 6.75% sales tax, and a buck to get into the yard. add $45 for end links, $60 for polyurethane bushings from auto zone, and $10 for stainless bolts with which to mount it and adding a front sway bar is around $160.

No it's not. I said it's best, so therefore, it's best
How hard was that?

Richey, the sway bar shouldn't affect your ride like that. That's the idea behind a sway bar. Allow smooth ride with good handling.

If someone had a stock geo one for cheap i'd probably try it.... it's going on an scca ITB road race car with a welded diff. With no sway bar at all I get the inside front tire coming off the track. Trying to fix problem with suspension setup but thought about trying any "small" swaybar. Too much up front and it'll understeer I've been told.

so....metro or GTi bars please :)

24mm from 89 GT. I have eveything but the bolts/nuts. I could probably find them if needed. You may want to put new end links on it. I really don't know their condition. Name a price you would consider fair, you may want to check shipping costs first. Via Canada post/USPS. basic rate is about $40 from what I can tell.
