instead of defending our cars whenever someone decides to troll the forum, post your reasons or stories here

i loved my Swift for a few reasons (not in order!)

1) good on gas
2) quick - quick enough to scare the heck outta alot of people
3) a blast to drive! right foot density usually went up by a factor of 10! :buzz:

I love my Firefly

1) even better on gas :-P
2) so reliable it sickening (owned it 10+ years now)
3) fun to drive (not as much as the swift mind you!)
4) it can be parked in any stall especially in a land of SUV's that people can;t drive. usually they park so bad you can park in between them!!! :D
5) the ultimate heavy traffic vehicle, there is always room for you!
6) it is very easy to work on (hey buddy! help me lift the motor back in! :-P )
7) even now with 331,000 k on it, although it is definelty in it's twighlight, it still refuses to die. :thwack: i still put about 2000 km a month on it (minimum) and abuse it even worse!

Hands down the best car i have ever owned. still has original suspension, front end, transmission, starter, driveshafts and recently replaced original headlight bulbs.

Well I own 3 Metros from old school to new school. They are inexpensive to own and operate plus my son prefers to ride in the '97 or '00 Metro over our Z24, SC2 and ZX2.

I can't really say if I like my Metro or not. I've only driven it a few times, and it was running badly on 2 1/2 cylinders with an automatic transmission. But I do love lightweight Japanese cars, so I'll probably enjoy driving it. I'd prefer something older, like a Datsun 510, but NY weather ate all of the old cars.

because it is a sleeper, because nobody expects that from a "Geo",gas consumption(gas is going for almost $2.00 for premium and expected to get worse)and a challenge to modify. It is easy and extremely common to see a quick Honda ,but to get it out of a Suzuki Swift GT??more of a challenge and more respect from car people.Reliable, and overall why i love mine 1 word,,,DIFFERENT.

If my Swift was as fast as Tg or m's car I'd be famous...
My car is a trailer queen 'cause it's too slow to merge safely into traffic

i've driven my gt as hard as the kumhos will allow, it's the only car i've gotten the tires nearly as hot as the engine.
i love that no-one suspects what they're in for when they get in the passenger seat or pull up beside me. i love that i've had a wrx roll down his windows to fold in his mirrors when he couldn't pull away from me on the island roads :) i really think the gt(i) is the ultimate underdog and the most bang for the buck.
it's flat out fun, fun to work on, fun to drive, and a fun community to be a part of :D

Swift GT: Great economy, super reliable, easy to work on, fantastic engine sound, whimsical character = not taken seriously until it's too late, not many around = exclusive. It all adds up to great fun for the money.

In my opinion these engines rival the top japanese supercars out there in terms of craftsmanship. It's really unbelievable to think it was designed some 15+ years ago!

And the sound is sooo nice and deep at WOT it just screams!!

Why I love my Swift:
- enough power to keep up with new and expensive "tuning" cars
- enough power to beat some of them
- reliable, haven't broken up yet
- I don't have to live in the gas station
- it doesn't look awful

-Swifts/Metros are all about efficiency and light weight (a Japanese Lotus reincarnate?)
-What other modern car can be repaired with only 6 tools (phillips head screwdriver, 10mm, 12 mm, 13mm,14mm, 17mmm. wrench)?
-Even well abused used Swift/Metros can be brought back easily to life.
- What car in decent shape can you buy for less than $2000 that can give you 50MPG without paying 10 times as much for a car like Honda Insight or Toyota Prius?
-Suzuki better start selling these types of cars again soon, because even car companies like Mercedes are gonna sell Swatch micro cars by this fall.

what i like the most about these cars is everyone is laughing at you because you are investing money in a ''METRO'''SPRINT''etc.....(keep laughing  ) And the gas mileage of course....it's a challenge to modified(custom parts) :D and it's easy to work on it...and there's not too much around..

300km with a full tank is economy!!

The reason why i love it:

-Engine Sounds (now with cam)
-exhaust sound (2" Vibrant muffler and cath hiflow)
-Sleeper
-Very funny to drive
-8800rpm feeling!

Why should i buy? headers genie stainless 2" 4-2-1 or Calmini 4-2 ? Can i find a front pipe 2" for the calmini? thx

I'm a convertible addict, but can't afford a mercedes, lol. Plus I love front wheel drive, great gas mileage, cheap insurance, and an overall well built car. The best part is telling that kid in his riced out Honda that he just got beat by a Geo.

sometimes I forget how good my car (sohc 8 valver, 5 door) is to drive until I drive another car,
I drove quite a number of cars, mostly rather large ones and I found that you can't have any fun in them, those big V6's and V8's can go pretty fast, but it's not fun, you can't feel the speed, they are so heavy and big that you can't throw them around etc.
I find that in my car, even when I floor it all the time it only uses up to 7.5L/100km of petrol and I got it using down to 6.5L/100km.
Another thing is that you can hear the engine, unlike most new cars that are so quiet.

Also, another important thing I noticed, when driving, there are no blindspot's, in other cars I've driven, sometimes, I'll turn my head around to check when changing lanes, but all I see is the beam behind me, or the back windows is too small and high up to see anything properly.

You also sit quite low, in most other cars, as soon I sit down, I'm trying to find a way to lower the seat down cause it's way too high. Sitting high up makes you feel like you are driving a van, not a car, :)

anyway, these are my thoughts, there are more, eg, cheap etc, but that's enough for now.

why I love the swift..it is the ultimate adult go-kart! it feels light and nimble, unlike so many new cars out now. the engine has a definate growl at higher revs...it is old enough now that most kids think its just a metro...the look on thier faces :-P   . i think of all it had going for it back in the day...twin cam 16 valve 4wheel disc brakes, 4wheel independent suspension. fuel injection etc..etc..and how it compares with a lot of new cars. the fact that my 9 year old son calls it a "hotrod"...and 35 m.p.g. in cobination driving

TRUE STORY: I passed a guy in a newer Mustang GT in town at WOT the other day and he caught up to me at a stoplight, and asked me if it was worked or not, because he said it sounds awesome! BTW: I still have my factory muffler on too! No fart cannon for me.

Through 1st we were dead even and in 2nd he pulled away hard. His car was Damn loud!! Straight pipe.

I loved my Swift, I still miss my swift, having no storage sucks.

Anyhow I loved my swift cause it was a unique machine, one of the most underestimated cars out there, and so easy to work on...sure they had they're lil quirks but damn there fun to drive.

No mention of present car needed....I'm still loving the lil swifters...and you all know i spread the love of the lil beast to my new "H" boys..lol

I love my Swift because:

a) Its the only one of its kind in my home town. :D
b) Have to be the fastest car under 2-litres I've ever been in.
c) It can nail my friends Baleno GTX 1.8 easy, and its 1/2L smaller!
d) 400k's on a 25L tank? Now thats economy!
e) People say its a piece of crap 1300cc, does it give 'em a surprise.
f) I just LOVE it cos its unique... :P
g) The sound of it, the smell of it, the look of it, the sound of 7000rpm, intoxicating... :D

I love my Swift GT because it's the car the Honda Civic hatch should have been.

As an old Honda fanatic, it hurts to see how bloated the Civic became after 1991.
